The Spirals: Calendar

We had an exceptional time at the Sugar Maple! We appreciate every person who made the trek out to spend the night with us. The warmth of the audience was a great reward for our efforts. Mistick Crewe took us on a rich, groovy, and harmonic musical journey - including crew member, Jared Drake, who has also played with Mark and Candice as part of Mark Truesdell and the Lost Pioneers. Jared played a few numbers with Mark & Candice for old times sake - and it was a new good time!
Thanks again to everyone for spending the evening with us! We plan to do it again!

What an excellent and DEFINITELY fun time with Alex Ballard and H! In addition to their creative mountain of talent and songwriting grooves, they are funny as all heck. It was a great night with a tight-nit audience - thank you for being there!

My experience at Ladies Rock Camp was absolutely creatively freeing, supportive, and a healthy challenge. Six all female bands were formed, among strangers on the surface, but ultimately not at heart. Each band wrote, rehearsed, and finally performed their own rockin' songs at High Noon Saloon in Madison, WI, as the culmination to camp. We participated in instruction in our chosen instruments with outstanding, well-seasoned women instructors. As campers, some brave souls never even played their instruments before - and signed up on purpose to learn and perform in one weekend!

Beth Kille (Music Director) and Halle Pollay (Camp Director) pulled off one heck of an ultra-organized, FUN, soul-reaching, practical. supportive, creative feat. We learned a heck of a lot about songwriting and the chutzpah to go with it. We women campers made a mental and emotional and physical creative space for ourselves that allowed some pretty heavy duty, intense growth to occur. It was fabulous.

AND the Madison Music Foundry was fabulous, the location of this 3 full-day event.

Our performance at the High Noon Saloon (thank you High Noon for supporting women's music) was jazzed and fun and filled to the brim with excited energy. Beth Kille wrote a song herself that same weekend, called Ladies Rock, and we performed it as one big band to start and end the show. And it did rock, complete with wailing lyrics and let-loose build-ups. Nicky Sund is one talented, rockin' drummer!! And - I finally arrived - someone tuned my guitar for me prior to the gig. It was fun to have all of the accoutrements of the rock'n'roll lifestyle :) The kids who were roadies did a really hard and excellent job!
